Delivery by drone is much discussed in India. Some rules have also been made for this by the Government of India. However, as early as 2013, Amazon Chairman Jeff Bezos had estimated that large-scale delivery through drones would be possible by 2018, which has not yet happened in 2024. Let us know why.
Why has delivery not been possible through drones yet?
Let us tell you that delivery through drones is being planned for a long time. However, the first drone delivery was also made in the US in July 2016. For the first time, chicken sandwich was delivered from one place to another through this drone delivery. After which many people started feeling that now drone delivery will become quite common and through this the roads will also be freed up to a great extent.
Besides, claims were also made that drones would be eco-friendly. These will not cause any harm to the environment, but this has not been possible till 2024, due to which there were some fears. Things like people’s distrust of drones, its complexity, its expensiveness and its use being prohibited in many places were included.
Accident occurred due to drone going to deliver chicken
Recently, a case of a drone going to deliver chicken falling in Gurugram has come to light. In which a drone weighing 30 kg was going to deliver chicken, after which it fell and created a crater at that place. These were the fears due to which delivery through drones was not possible till now.
The idea came 10 years ago
The idea of delivery through drones was given by Jeff Bezos, Chairman of Amazon Company, about 10 years ago. However, issues like safety have now become bigger for delivery through drones. The accident in Gurugram is an example of this. There are many benefits of delivery through drones. This is the reason why delivery through drones has been approved in India.
